SoulFest, Google's First-Ever Black Music and Culture Festival, was co-produced by Gerald Jean-Baptiste and Kyle Gordon. SoulFest happened at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland during Black History Month 2018.
The mission of SoulFest is for Google to celebrate the Black community’s ability to shape Arts and Culture, and to also acknowledge the value that their innovative utilization of technology provides. As a tech company, Google's recognition of Black influence provides opportunities to change the broader narrative around inclusion.
